How do I sign up?

Patients who wish to participate will be issued a MyKidsChart activation code during their clinic visit. This code will enable you to login and create your own user ID and password. If you were not issued an activation code, you may contact your specialistís office and ask to sign up during your next office visit.

When can I see my test results in MyKidsChart ?

Your test results are released to your MyKidsChart account after your physician has reviewed them. This is generally within 1-12 days.

Why are certain test results not shared electronically via MyKidsChart ?

Your provider is able to determine which types of test results are able to be accessed through MyKidsChart . Further, tests of a very sensitive nature are not released to MyKidsChart .

If some of my health information on MyKidsChart is not correct, what should I do?

Your MyKidsChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your specialistís office. Ask your doctor to correct any inaccurate information at your next office visit. Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record each visit.

If I send a message to my doctor or nurse, when can I expect a reply?

You will generally receive an answer within 1-3 business days. Please note, MyKidsChart is a resource for non-urgent questions. It is not a substitute for a doctorís visit, and information provided through MyKidsChart does not constitute personal medical advice. Questions or situations requiring immediate attention should be directed to your childís doctor by phone. If he or she canít be reached, call the nearest urgent care or emergency department.

Can I view a family member's health record in MyKidsChart ?

Yes you can. This is called Proxy access and allows a parent (or guardian) to log into their personal MyKidsChart account, and then connect to information regarding their family member. Complete a Proxy Consent Form and return it to one of our medical facilities to request access to this convenient service.

Can I ask questions regarding a family member from my MyKidsChart account?

MyKidsChart offers direct access to your personal health record and communicating about another individual's information would be placed in your health record. This information would not appear in the correct health record and could potentially jeopardize medical care.

Can my spouse and I share one MyKidsChart account?

No, due to the sensitive nature of medical information, each adult must sign and submit a MyKidsChart Access Agreement and establish their own MyKidsChart account. If the patient is over 18 an additional form is required for the proxy. This form, MyKidsChart Adult Proxy Authorization for Release of Medical Information, is also available in your specialistís office.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You may contact our MyKidsChart Patient Support Line at 1-877-355-3155 to request a new, secure password. You may also click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page of MyKidsChart to reset your password online.

Can you send me a new access code as I have lost it, let it expire or did not receive it?

Contact our MyKidsChart Patient Support Line at 1-877-355-3155. After we verify your information, a new code will be sent via U.S. Postal Mail. Privacy issues prevent us from e-mailing a new access code to you.

Log into MyKidsChart and from the left menu, go to the Preferences section and select the appropriate option.

How is MyKidsChart secure?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure access codes, personal ID's, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Futher, MyKidsChart uses the latest 128-bit SSL encryption technology with no caching to automatically encrypt your session with MyKidsChart . Unlike conventional e-mail, all MyKidsChart messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our website.

What is your Privacy Policy?

MyKidsChart is owned and operated by Dayton Childrenís and is a module of our clinical information system. It is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and e-mail address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by Dayton Childrenís.

I was logged our of MyKidsChart , what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into MyKidsChart , if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of MyKidsChart . We recommend that you log out of your MyKidsChart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

What do I need to use MyKidsChart ?

You need access to a computer connected to the Internet and an up-to-date browser (such as Internet Explorer).

My access code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your access code expires after 60 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. If you still have problems, call our MyKidsChart Patient Support Line at 1-877-355-3155.

Is my access code my user ID?

No, your access code is not your MyKidsChart ID or password. You will use your access code (15 characters long) is only used once to log into MyKidsChart for the first time. (The access code will expire after you have used it or after 60 days). When you log into MyKidsChart the first time, you will then be asked to create your own unique MyKidsChart ID and password.

Who Provides Technical Support for MyKidsChart?

Childrenís Dayton has contracted with Paragon Development Systems (PDS) to provide 24X7 technical support for MyKidsChart to ensure you, our patients, are able to receive assistance at the time best for you. To reach a technical support representative, please dial (877) 355-3155.

PDS Representatives do not have access to patient medical information. They will assist with log-in problems, usernames, passwords, access codes, and technical issues.

If your questions relate to information provided by your clinic (communication, test results), please DO NOT call the technical support number provided above, rather, contact your care provider during clinic hours.
